9000 homes connected to PM Surya Ghar Scheme

Ensuing central government directives for provision of free electricity under PM Surya Ghar Scheme, the central region power distributor on Thursday said it has connected 9000 homes across 16 districts in Madhya Pradesh. Providing benefits under the scheme, the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company is also extending a subsidy of Rs 30,000 to 78, 000 to consumers installing solar systems. Presently, electricity consumers in 16 districts across Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions are deriving benefits under the scheme which envisions easy access to free electricity for consumers.The objective of the PM Surya Ghar Scheme is to enhance cost saving benefits for consumers while they contribute to the protection of the environment.
